what...? [Apr. 30th, 2005|09:42 pm]
OK. background: grocery store cashier.

me: awesome
ul: unemployed lady

ul: *is unloading her groceries onto the belt of a checkstand that isn't open (the light is off)*
me: *walks up* ma'am, this one isnt open, so im going to take you to my register
ul: *indistinct angry mumbling*
me: so how are you doing?
ul: i am so angry! im never shopping here again
me: what happened?
ul: all the prices here are so much higher than any other store! its ridiculous!
me: im...sorry...?
ul: it really makes me so angry that i could just scream (already is screaming)
me: ......
ul: its DAMN ridiculous! im unemployed and its so hard for me to buy groceries anyway without them being so expensive here already! *tries to swipe card* im shaking im so mad...see! i cant even swipe my card *screen pops up that says "is $40.98 ok?"* NO ITS NOT OK
me: (i really have no idea what to say at this point)*finishes transaction* im really sorry
ul: gahh! *walks off*
30 seconds later...
ul: *returns, waving coupon* i want this 55 cents!
me: alright then...
ul: im never coming here again!
me: im sorry. have a good night!

she was crazy. i had no idea what to say to her. i have nothing to do with the prices. she only bought like 40 bucks worth of stuff and she was still mad. i really have no idea what she was talking about because the store i work for is the lowest priced in the area. those who live in texas know what grocery im talking about. then i had this lady who left her wallet so we called her and she came up and hugged me and my manager. she was really sweet.

we havent written in so long. im terrible. anyways, sydney here. emily's at camp so it looks like i gotta hold down the fort while she's gone. i miss her terribly. *tear*. well i read all the entries that emily and i have written and i laughed...a lot. school's over, but the retardity of our english class still remains in the forefront of our minds. we eventually migrated to the other end of the room, where we felt much better. we also created an interesting music video which included footage of me looking up the dress of a sculpture. i cant believe our whole class saw that.

anyways, ill try to update throughout the summer, but it wont be the same with emily gone. ill try to get her to mail me letters, but i cant guarantee anything. yes, i love the drama.

its been a good one,

Yea, so I was trying to wait for Sydney to update before I added another entry, but it didn't really work out. She's in Galveston at a pre-teen's dance competition. Blast!? Oh yes!

Anyways, lots has happened since I decided to wait for Sydney to update. First, Spring Break:

No school= happy days.

and that's all you need to know.

That and the fact that SAVES THE DAY was here the last night of spring break. Sunday, the 14th, I believe it was.

I love Saves the Day.

And I love Chris Conley. Great Writer, great person, and he has a really interesting tour diary. There's just no going wrong.

Anyways, Joey was there, and so was his digital camera, so now I have this:

Great night.

Also, new English project that Sydney and I need to complete in about 3 hours once she gets home from Galveston and before I leave for TGUK tonight:

Turn the classic fairytale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, into a parody of Alan Paton's writing style in Cry, the Beloved Country and anything else you want.

Soooo.. we're doing The Three Billy Goats Gruff + the bridge crossing scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
We totally win.

Also!, Sydney brought me lots of good things on Friday. See, the week of finals, i had a miserable case of 'acute tonsilitis and congestion,' and Sydney promised to bring me tea, but she forgot, so on Friday she brought me a whole BAG of stuff 'for next time [i'm] sick.' You got your cough drops, your bubble bath, your chicken noodle soup, your Pez, your chocolate, your hand sanitizer, your Altoids, your Chiclets, your lotion, your Kleenex, your throat meds, your anti-congestion meds, of course, your tea, and a load of other good stuff. I was so excited. Sydney's the bessssst.

AND her birthday is April 5th. Everyone make a big deal.

Anyways, to wrap up the rest of the week: I went to my first kickboxing class, got kicked out of a yoga class, shocked by an electric fence(on accident), and bucked off of a horse for the first time in my life.

haha.. it was actually all pretty fun though.

[music |saves the day- take our cars now! reminds me of wyominggg]

today was a lot like yesterday in that i am still pretty sick.

i no longer hold any faith in cold medicines.

also, tonight i'm going to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
John Mayer's playing- my mom's so excited. Apparently, she bought the really good tickets, the ones in the 'action zone,' so it should be interesting.

[music |Northstar- Blackheart Valentine]

today was one heck of a day. 1st period- human geography test. 2nd period- spanish test. 3rd period- chem test. 4th period- ctbc essay, and lit terms due. I forgot about my lit terms, but sydney saved me! go sydney, go.

Also, i cant breathe through my nose. congestion is officially no good.

anyways, while i was lookin for good 'then' and 'now' 3rd (andy) lawrence brother pictures, i found this 'Andy Poetry' on one of the sites:

Poem 1: Andy

Andy is the one that brings the light from the skies.
Andy is the one that opens my eyes.
Andy is the one that lets my life at ease.
Andy is the one that lets the breeze

Poem 2: Brotherly Love
by Jamie Flam Jr. (Not Jamie Flam)

the love between brothers
is better than syndication
fatter than nell carter
and as chained as aspiration

the love between brothers
is sweet brotherly love
and andy is my brotherly dove

[music |Death Cab- We Looked Like Giants]

You're Thailand!

Calmer and more staunchly independent than almost all those around you,
you have a long history of rising above adversity.  Recent adversity has led to questions
about your sexual promiscuity and the threat of disease, but you still manage to attract a
number of tourists and admirers.  And despite any setbacks, you can really cook a good
meal whenever it's called for.  Good enough to make people cry.

Take the Country
at the Blue Pyramid

looooooooooooooove emily

also- aristide's gone and help's beginning to get to haiti. :) better.

welllll...yesterday was fun. i played four games of lacrosse. after i went to austin's house and we all watched teenage mutant ninja turtles. my god that movie was the best thing in the world. we cracked up the whole freakin time. the official IMDB plot summary:

"A quartet of humanoid turtles trained by their mentor in ninjitsu must learn to pull together in order to face the menace of Shredder and the Foot Clan."

it was rated PG (!!!!!!!!!!!!) so they kept saying "damn" as much as they could. it was great. also they kept doing these flashbacks and they were hilarious. just go see the orginal TMNT.

thank you. its been a good one -

ok so this is beans(andrew), the alleged fourth lawrence brother:

holy crap, emily's theory is true.

the imbd.com website states "[Steven Lawrence] portrayed a mentally retarded kid (see deleted scenes) in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, but the scene was cut for offensiveness of subject matter."

i just about peed my pants laughing when i read that because its the first thing i saw after his really scary picture. my sister is also obsessed with bacon, like his character in even stevens. in other news, you should see this immediately. just for all of you who havent seen it. ok its been established. also, this kid at our school has anger issues. emily told me. he bangs on his locker if he doesnt get the combination right the first time and gets really mad at stuff.

EMILY IS SINGLE! just thought id let everyone know since it was important enough to be on sheridan's dashboard. thanks.
